With over 15 years of experience in the water industry as a Legionella Consultant, Compliance Manager and Tutor, Richard Johnson brings a wealth of experience to the PPL Engineering Services team as it relates to water systems.

As a Legionella Consultant, Richard conducted detailed risk assessments in line with HSE/HTM guidelines across various facilities, including NHS properties, private care homes, and leisure centres.

In the role of Senior Water Hygiene Trainer & Consultant, he delivered a range of both standard and customised training courses. These courses were conducted at training centres and client sites, covering topics such as servicing of Thermostatic Mixer Valves (TMVs), Legionella Awareness and Management, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Water Regulations, and Risk Assessment across commercial, manufacturing, and healthcare facilities.

In his role as Compliance Manager, Richard worked with municipal facilities management teams to address health and safety issues. Solutions included establishing teams to manage TMVs at a major hospital, the implementation of water hygiene precautionary measures across numerous sites and meeting Service Level Agreements for contractual works.
